Midweek Meetup: Week of September 4th

Sep 4, 2024

Verse of the Day: “Remember me, O Lord, when you show favor to your people; help me when you save them, that I may look upon the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance.” (Psalm 106:4-5)

Jesus, I see so much that is wrong in my life and the world around me. I can get discouraged. Please, help me see Your goodness. I want to rejoice today. Amen.

Meeting Jesus ~ ARK Sunday School starts THIS Sunday, September 8, at 9 a.m. (new time!) Miss Aricka will lead the PreK to 5th graders to learn all about discipleship, i.e. how to be a follower of Jesus. During the worship hour, kids now will remain with their parents, or the youngest kids can head to the Church Nursery which will be open and fully staffed. We’re so excited as this new chapter of ARK begins.

Meeting Friends ~ Stuck? Tired? Ready for newness? Let every day be a Fresh Start. Celebrate God’s new day this Sunday in worship, with special music from our Quartet singing, “New Born Again,” and an acoustic set from our Praise Band. Pastor MJ will be preaching from Lamentations 3, “New Every Morning.” Stay with us after worship for brunch served by the Fellowship Team.

Sharing Hope ~ You may be aware of conversations in La Junta around the growth of our homeless population. Our church is active in the community in this regard, as we are frequently called upon to help with short term housing. It’s your support of the Deacons Fund that makes this support possible. Thank you and thank God for the opportunity to help “the least of these” (Matthew 25:31-46).

Finally…Rod and Kristin Bickel welcomed the newest grandson, Miles Derek Bickel, on September 2. Parents Parker and Aleala, along with big brother Grayson, are doing great…We also thank God for the safe return of Lindy Bay, who went missing yesterday from her home. Lindy suffers from dementia. If you ever see her around town without Ron, please call him or 911 immediately.
