Midweek Meetup: Week of September 25th

Sep 25, 2024

Verse of the Day:

“Who are you?” they [the Pharisees] asked.

“Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied. “I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is trustworthy, and what I have heard from him I tell the world.” (John 8:25-26)

Jesus, I believe that Your word is trustworthy. I know You are the Messiah. Help me live a life that shows Your glory to everyone around me. In Your name, Amen.

Meeting Jesus ~  It’s Confirmation Sunday, as we welcome two new young people–Abigail Hill and Aaron Saucedo–into the life of faith and celebrate their commitment to the church.  Join us in the Fellowship Hall for refreshments after worship as we greet the confirmands and offer our blessings.

Meeting Friends ~ Tables is our small group ministry, meeting once monthly (typically on the first Sunday of the month) in members’ homes for a meal, scripture reading, discussion and prayer. We begin in just a couple of Sundays on October 6. Call (719-384-2852) or message (office@firstchurchlajunta.org) the Church Office to let us know you’ll be joining us. We’ll get the groups put together and give you more instructions then.

Sharing Hope ~   Please mark Sunday, October 13, at 4 p.m. on your calendars, as we welcome our own Karl Ludwig in concert on saxophone to benefit our Summer Camp Scholarship Fund. Karl will be joined by fellow Hastings College music student Clark Boettger, and Dean Rees will accompany.  We’ll have a chili/Frito pie supper to follow, also to benefit our campers.

Finally ~ Have you decided to follow Jesus?  Anyone who wishes to join the church, be baptized (yourself or your children), or renew your baptism, you’re invited to meet this Sunday with Pastor MJ in the Church Library. We’ll join the confirmands for their reception, then head upstairs to meet.
