Midweek Meetup: Week of October 16
Verse of the Day~
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:26-28)
Jesus, we pray for ourselves in the church, that we would remain welcoming of all people of all perspectives. In Your name, Amen. (From “31 Days of Prayer: 2024 Election Prayer Guide,” October 16)
Meeting Jesus ~ Throughout the year, your church elders have taken a turn in the pulpit. This Sunday, we welcome Joey Gacnik preaching on the faith of the disciples from Acts 1:6-8. We’re so excited to hear what he has to share. Our special music will be Alan Saucedo on trombone, accompanied by Dean Rees, playing “Amazing Grace.” [Please note: Our Time of Baptism is still pending, as we wait for the weather forecast to come a little clearer in the next day or two.]
Meeting Friends ~ Thank you to everyone who turned out for the concert and dinner this past Sunday. A huge debt of gratitude to Karl Ludwig, Clark Boettger, and Dean Rees for their music, as well as the Fellowship Team and Youth for the chili supper. We raised just shy of $1200 for our Summer Camp Scholarship Fund.
Sharing Hope ~ After several large gifts to community members, our Deacons Fund is very low. Please give any small amount you may be able to spare to assist households in the community in times of financial distress.
