Midweek Meetup: Week of March 27

Verse of the Day: 

Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’[a] but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’” (Matthew 21:12-13)

King Jesus, turn our attention to the things that last: love, grace, and faith. We pray in your name. Amen.

Thursday ~ Middle & High School Youth are invited to a Holy Week Experience on Thursday from 7 pm to midnight.  We’ll compete in an Easter scavenger hunt, “egg” the Otero College campus, and have a time of worship here at the church.

Good Friday ~ New! Come to "With the angels in the Garden" on Good Friday, March 29. It’s an immersive Good Friday experience.  Arrive early, any time between 6-7 p.m., for soup and sandwiches.

Easter Vigil ~ We’ll remain in prayer in the Church Sanctuary from the conclusion of worship on Good Friday to sunrise on Easter morning. We still have shifts in the wee hours of Saturday and Sunday morning, so please call the Church Office to grab a time.

Easter Sunday ~ Worship the risen Savior with friends and family at 10 a.m. An Easter Ensemble and Handbell Quartet will offer special music, along with the Praise Band and an Easter message from Pastor MJ.  Come early for breakfast at 9 a.m. and bring the kids for the annual Egg Hunt at 9:30 a.m.

Easter Offering ~This year’s Easter Offering benefits The Place in Colorado Springs (www.theplacecos.org). The Place offers shelter, care, and hope to homeless youth and young adults. We’ll receive your gifts in worship on Palm Sunday and Easter, or any time online (www.firstchurchlajunta/give.org).
