Midweek Meetup: Week of May 15

May 15, 2024

Verse of the Day:

Not to us, Lord, not to us

but to your name be the glory,

because of your love and faithfulness. (Psalm 115:1)

Lord, not to myself, let me draw attention. Not to myself, let me take credit for my blessings. To You and only You be the power and glory forever. Amen.

Meeting Jesus ~  It’s Pentecost Sunday. Let the red balloons abound. Come and share the Spirit at 10 a.m., with music from Kaydence Salazar, Chris Ludwig, and Sandy Petramala, singing, “Fill-a Me Up With The Holy Spirit,” accompanied by Karl Ludwig and Sarah Petramala on percussion, and a message from Pastor MJ, “A Big God Party,” from Acts 2:14-36. (Don’t forget to wear red.)

Meeting Friends ~ Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer is the first of our Summer Book Club selections. Grab a copy from a local bookstore or order it online, then join the discussion on Tuesday, June 4, at Pastor MJ’s house at 912 Santa Fe Avenue.  Drinks, snacks, and bug spray will be provided.

Sharing Hope ~ We are moving forward with our 2025 Mission to Mexico, and our next step is to set a date.  If you’re interested, please come early this Sunday, May 19, so we can plan together.  Our goal is to help construct four more water cisterns in the communities south of Xpujil in the Mexican state of Campeche.
