Midweek Meetup: Week of August 1st

Aug 1, 2024

Verse of the Day:

And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing and broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the people. And he divided the two fish among them all. And they all ate and were satisfied. (Mark 6:41-42)

Jesus, You provide for us in the most unexpected ways. Give us the faith to trust Your care in uncertain times.  Amen.

Meeting Jesus ~ We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of every month. Sometimes, we’re not able to join us in worship. Did you know that we can bring the Lord’s Supper to you?  If you or someone you know would find a visit meaningful, please contact the Church Office at 719-384-2852 or Pastor MJ directly.

Meeting Friends ~ Our final Summer Book Club meets next Tuesday, August 6, to discuss Jerry Sittser’s A Grace Disguised. It’s an easy, encouraging book about hope in times of loss. Join us at 7 p.m. at Pastor MJ’s house (912 Santa Fe in LJ).

Sharing Hope ~ A note of thanks to so many of you:  In these past two months, we have had the opportunity to bless many families in our church and community. We sent kids and interns to camp. We sponsored Vacation Bible School, and we trained and encouraged 10 VBS crew leaders. We have several youth in a summer confirmation program. This is how the next generation hears and learns to trust the good news of Jesus’ love for them.  You are doing and supporting God’s work.
