Midweek Meetup: Holy Week

Apr 16, 2025

Verse of the Day~

After saying this Jesus was troubled in spirit and declared, "Very truly, I tell you, one of you will betray me." (John 3:21)

Prayer~

Jesus, if we’re honest, we betray You all the time with our anger, pettiness, and unwillingness to forgive. Break our hearts of stone and re-make us. We pray in Your holy name.  Amen.

Meeting Jesus ~

There are lots of opportunities to meet Jesus in this holiest of weeks. Here are a few:

Good Friday

We remember and pray again the death of Jesus in our Service of Darkness at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. Come early for a buffet style supper any time from 6-7 p.m.

Prayer Walk

At 1 p.m. (weather permitting), we will gather in the parking area at Vogel Canyon before taking a 2 mile prayer walk in silence.

Prayer Vigil

We have lots of shifts still open for our Prayer Vigil, as we endeavor to fill the sanctuary with prayer from the time of Jesus’ death to his resurrection on Sunday morning. All of us are invited to pray at home or wherever we find ourselves this weekend, but please commit to these times when you will be physically present in the sanctuary by messaging Pastor MJ directly at 719-469-7717.

Dean and the musicians have outdone themselves in preparation of multiple musical selections, including even handbells. Pastor MJ will preach on John 20, and the Praise Band will close the service. Don’t miss it!

Meeting Friends ~

Easter Sunday Breakfast happens at 9 a.m. for Easter Breakfast, with an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids at 9:30 a.m. A big thanks to the Fellowship Team and Children’s Minister Aricka Hulsey for hosting these events.

Sharing Hope ~

Your best way to share hope this week is by telling someone about the risen Christ. Share your faith. Invite them to worship. Keep Jesus front and center, and the people around you will know.
