Midweek Meetup: Week of June 26

Verse of the Day: “Immediately Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. After leaving them, he went up on a mountainside to pray.” (Mark 6:45-46)

Jesus, in the busyness of life, we forget to follow Your example. We forget to pray. Make us so crave Your presence that we find the time to pray easily and joyfully. In Your name, Amen.

Meeting Jesus ~ We welcome our very own Hollis Goodwin to the pulpit this Sunday. Hollis is an elder serving on the session, and this is her first time preaching for us. We’re excited to hear a Word from her this week.

Meeting Friends ~ Our Summer Book Club continues on July 2, at 7 p.m., as we discuss Rebecca McLaughlin’s book Confronting Christianity. We’ll meet again at Pastor MJ’s house at 912 Santa Fe in LJ. You’ll need to order the book (it’s not available at Barnes & Noble in Pueblo), but Amazon can get it to you quickly, or you can download it to your Kindle app. 

Sharing Hope ~ We share hope when we share Jesus, and what better way than by spreading the word about Vacation Bible School.  Grab a flyer from the table in the church narthex and post it around town, or share the link on social media (https://firstchurchlajunta.org/vacation-bible-school). And please pray for the opportunity to share Jesus’ love with many new families.
