The “Wednesday Word” comes to you on a Tuesday this week so we can share some time-sensitive information below.

Verse of the Day~

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23)

Prayer~

Jesus, In life and in death, we belong to You. We cling to You in all the ups and downs of our days.. You are our hope in times of sadness, and our joy in all of life. In Your name, Jesus, Amen.

Special~We will host the funeral service for Minerva Hearington this Saturday at 1 p.m. Minerva was Sadie’s mom, and, as many of you know, she was killed in a tragic accident last Thursday.

Thank you to so many of you who have contributed to help the church pay the funeral costs. We have raised just about $3100. You are welcome to still make a contribution, but know that the church does have reserve funds we can use for the balance.

Also, Jeanne Brittain needs casseroles, salads, and desserts to serve to the family for lunch on Saturday. Please call her at 719-468-9021 if you’re able to help. She’ll need the food here on Saturday by 9 a.m.

Meeting Jesus ~

Our “Talk Jesus” worship series continues, as we learn and remember how to speak confidently about our faith.This week, we meet Stephen in Acts 7 as he uses the past to talk about how God is at work in the present and future. “Looking back, how has Jesus been at work in your life, even if you didn’t realize it at the time?”

Meeting Friends ~

Our annual meeting happens this Sunday, February 25, immediately following worship. Please come celebrate the ways God has blessed us to bless others in 2025.

Sharing Hope ~

Junction Kids is our midweek ministry for kids PreK-6th grade, and it begins next Wednesday, January 28, from 4:30-5:45 p.m. This spring, we’re headed to the “Wild West” with crafts, drama, games, and snacks. Please register as soon as possible at www.firstchurchlajunta.org.

Finally~

We are still looking for a new Church Secretary. Job descriptions are available in the Church Office.Please see a member of the Personnel Team (Patti Aldea and Jerry Bradfield) or Pastor MJ for more information.
