Verse of the Day~

“But Thomas (who was called the Twin), one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger in the mark of the nails and my hand in his side, I will not believe." (John 20:24-25)

Prayer~

Jesus, help me believe even before I’ve seen the marks on Your hands. The world seems dark and confusing. There’s so much wrong. Help me see you even in the midst of it. When I’m worried and scared, when you feel distant, show up for me. I pray in Your name, Amen.

Meeting Jesus ~

Christ is risen! In response to this celebration, we are spending the next 6 weeks renewing our faith in our new worship series, “6M: Whole Life Christianity.” The 6 M’s are: Modeling Godly character, Makes good work, Minister of grace and love, Mold culture, Mouthpiece for truth and justice, Messenger of the Gospel. This Sunday, April 12, we begin with “Modeling Godly Character,” from Mark 12:41-44 and Galatians 5. Come and invite a friend!

Meeting Friends ~

We hosted a couple of special events for children and youth during Holy Week. Aimee Hill and Brandon Lease, along with Pastor MJ, hosted an Easter Escape Room for youth, and Aricka Hulsey organized a showing of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” in the sanctuary. Dozens of kids were blessed by your efforts. Thank you!

Sharing Hope ~

Wow! God is good. We have already collected $3800 for this year’s Easter Offering. We will hold the offering open for a couple more weeks in case anyone who was out of town for Easter (or forgot their checkbook) has a chance to give. The offering will be equally divided between the Emergency Warming Shelter at Calvary Church, Colorado State University’s Extension Office’s English as a Second Language for Adults Classes, and La Junta High School’s music program under the direction of Jacob Martinez.
