Verse of the Day~

As you enter the home, give it your greeting.If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet. (Matthew 10:12-14)

Prayer~

Jesus, how often do I stay in toxic places? How many times do I resist saying no to the things in my life that are tearing me down? Give me the courage to say goodbye. In Your name, Amen.

Meeting Jesus ~

This Sunday in worship, our “Honesty in Prayer: The Book of Psalms” considers the imprecatory psalms. What does imprecatory mean? Come to church at 10 a.m. and find out! With special music from Deb Griffis, singing, “Precious Lord, Take My Hand.”

Meeting Friends ~

Small groups are meaningful. Small groups are fun. Small groups are vital to the ongoing strengthening of our faith. Small groups are simply small (get it?) groups of church members and friends who meet weekly at the church or in homes to study scripture and pray for one another. If you’re not already involved in a small group, Terry Miller is here to help you find one. Seek her out!

Sharing Hope ~

Operation Christmas Child is our ministry of outreach to children around the world. Every year, we fill shoeboxes with toys, necessities, and prayers before sending them out through Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse ministry. Becci Lease reports that we are still needing a few items to complete our boxes: Markers, Colored Pencils, Rulers, Glue Sticks, Crayons, Scissors, and Notebook Paper. If you wish to donate money and have the Missions Team purchase the needed items, just make out your check to First Church with "OCC" on the memo line or designate the gift if you're giving online. If you wish to pack a box yourself, boxes and information are available outside the sanctuary.
