Midweek Meetup: Week of May 8

May 8, 2024

Verses of the Day: Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth. (Deuteronomy 11:18-21)

Lord, fix Your words on our hearts. Bind them to us, so that we can share with our children and our children’s children and You will be glorified. We pray in Your name, Amen.

Meeting Jesus ~  Our SCUBA Vacation Bible School is our chance to share Jesus with children and families in our community. To make it a success, we need YOU. There will be a volunteer meeting on Sunday, May 19, after worship. Please join us!

Meeting Friends ~ Weekly fellowship gatherings for ELEVATE Youth finished up for the year. We saw dozens of students through our group, and many friendships were made. A lot of the students had no church home, and some were getting to know Jesus for the first time. Yea God! A big thank you to Katy Jones, Chris Ludwig, Jerry Chambers, and Pastor MJ for sharing the leadership duties on Sunday nights.

Sharing Hope ~ Being a mom (or father or any caregiver of kids) is a hard job. Let us celebrate you this Sunday in worship and afterwards for Mother’s Day. We’ll honor moms and the women who mother us in worship, with a special panel of young adults sharing about the ways their mothers shaped them and their faith. After worship, moms are invited to Muffins with Mom hosted by the ARK Kidz. Our photo booth will be set up too.

A final note…We offer our sympathies to Kristin Bickel upon the death of her mother Elza Parker. Elza was a regular at many of our youth events over the years. Please keep Kristin and her family, along with her father Richard, and her whole extended family in your prayers.
