5 Things to Know This Week @ First Pres

1 Thanksgiving Sunday It’s a big Sunday coming up. It starts with the Turkey Chase 5K walk/jog/run through the streets of La Junta at 8 a.m. Worship happens at 10 a.m., with a special message from Joey Gacnik and the God’s House Kidz singing, “Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart.” We’re excited too to welcome new members during the service. After worship, we’ll stay for our annual Pie Social, along with the Hanging of the Greens (aka decorating the church for Advent and Christmas). Please join us. Is there someone in your life who could use some inspiration? Bring them along.

2 Wow! 150 boxes! A big wowza to the congregation and Becci Lease for reaching our goal of filling 150 boxes for this year’s Operation Christmas Child collection. Well done!

3 “Joy Story” pageant rehearsals have begun Rehearsals have begun for this year’s “Joy Story” Christmas pageant, with a cast of toys telling the story of Jesus’ birth. If you missed Sunday and would like to involve your children, grandchildren, or any kids you may know who’d love the experience, please contact Arah at arah4firstpreskids@yahoo.com, or call the Church Office at 384-2852.

4 Parents Night Out Our annual gift to parents happens on Friday, December 13, from 5-9 p.m., for Pre-K through 6th graders. Check info on Parents Night Out and other December events at www.christmasinlajunta.info.

5 Prayers…. For Hayden Bickel, who has come through his shoulder surgery with flying colors...for the teachers in our partner classrooms at the LJ Primary and Intermediate schools, for sanity through these last couple of days before the Thanksgiving holiday...for Leonard Vance as he continues treatment for cancer.
