5 Things to Know This Week @ First Pres

1 Kingdom Challenge

Our “Tales of the Kingdom” worship series continues this Sunday with a once-only Kingdom Challenge. You’ll just have to come to see what it is. We’ll be sharing the Lord’s Supper, hearing “A Tale of Giving” from Matthew 25:14-30, and letting the Chancel Choir delight us with “Day by Day.” After worship, we’ll be downstairs for coffee fellowship and playing “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” with the God’s House Kids.

2 Prayers for praise workshop

This Saturday, November 9, we welcome Chris Cullins as a guest clinician for a praise workshop in the sanctuary. Chris is principal worship leader at First Pres of Colorado Springs, and he’ll be here to share his expertise. If you’ve ever wondered about joining the praise band, this is a great time to jump in. Instrumentalists will begin at 9 a.m., vocalists at 10:30. A light lunch will follow.

3 OCC Spaghetti Dinner

We’re so excited to again host the annual Operation Christmas Child Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, November 16. If you can help cook, please find Vi Cunningham. Everyone is encouraged to come, eat, and support this worthy cause!

4 Trunk or Treat

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who came out for our annual Trunk or Treat. With the cold weather, we had an even bigger crowd than usual. We estimate that we saw about 550 kids. The real fruit of our labor, though, will be families we met whom we see again in worship on Sunday morning. That’s why we do it.

5 Kingdom Giving

Church families, you’ll be receiving a mailing in the next few days with an estimate-of-giving card for 2020. Please give prayerful consideration to this commitment to the mission and ministry of the church in the year to come. We’re here to be and make disciples who bless the world with Christ’s love, after all. How can you support that mission financially?

We were very sad to hear the news that former member and good friend T. L. Henderson passed away this past week in Burnet, TX. We trust that T. L. in the Lord’s presence now and talking His ear off. Please keep Cheryl, Ty, Cole, and their families in your prayers. We’ll have a card for all to sign on Sunday morning.
