5 Things to Know This Week @ First Pres

1 The empire strikes back

In Episode 2 of our worship series from Esther, the empire strikes back and it strikes back hard. Join us for worship at 10 a.m. with the Chancel Choir singing, “I Believe.” It’s a message of hope in the darkest of times.

2 Purim? Huh?

Purim is the Jewish festival celebrating God’s deliverance of His people from Haman in the Book of Esther. Next Sunday, October 6, we’ll join the God’s House Kids at the end of their own study of Esther with a very special coffee fellowship after worship, with food and games based on Purim.

3 CTW High School Fellowship helps out our neighbors

This Sunday, September 29, our high school youth are invited to put on their grungy clothes and help out some neighbors in need of yard work. Meet at the church at 4 p.m.

4 AXIS Workshop

AXIS is a resource of parents, teachers, and youth workers, and our national church has provided all of us with access to it. Come to the workshop on Sunday, October 13, 12-3 p.m. Bring a dish to share, and then learn all about it. Participants will receive login information at the workshop. Visit www.axis.org to see a preview.

5 The Men’s Group returns!

On Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., beginning October 1, join the other men of the church and community for a study and discussion of “Fire on the Mountain” by Ray Vander Laan. Contact Tom Aldea at 719-469-3846 for more information.
