5 Things to Know This Week @ First Pres
1 Splash Canyon is almost here!
Splash Canyon VBS is almost here! The fun and faith building happens Wednesday through Saturday, July 10-13, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for PreK-6th grade kids. Pre-register at https://www.VBSMate.com/FirstPres, or simply come a few minutes early on Wednesday night. See Arah Minck for more information or questions.
Note: Donations of snack items would be much appreciated. Specifically, we’re in need of : graham crackers, goldfish, teddy grahams, blue frosting, cookie crisp cereal, marshmallows, pretzels, cheeseballs, M&M’s, orange slices, strawberries, carrots, celery, cream cheese, and ranch dip. Please bring your items to the church by Wednesday morning.
2 Speaking of Splash Canyon
Thanks to everyone who came out and all who helped our Splash Canyon outreach party at City Park on Tuesday afternoon. Lots of fun!
3 "Our neighbor on the other side of the world…”
In worship, as we pause to give thanks for the gifts of freedom in America this weekend, we also turn our attention to our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world, as we look at 2 Corinthians 9 and God’s call to be citizens of His Kingdom first. Please join us!
4 A few good women and men
If you’d be willing to add your name to a list of people to call when specific Building & Grounds concerns come up, please let us know by e-mailing the Church Office at email@example.com. Our Building & Grounds Team has been recently hampered by illness, so we can use all the help we can get!
5 Donut update
We love the donuts, and we’re glad you do too. Unfortunately, they are still coming at a significant weekly cost to the church. Again, if you can pitch in a dollar when you enjoy a donut, we’d certainly appreciate it. We’ll re-evaluate the ministry at the end of July.
Finally (drumroll please!)...
This week, we welcomed Aricka Hulsey as our new Church Secretary. We’re so glad that Aricka and her husband Caulin, along with baby Kaydie, have made La Junta their home. Aricka is well known to our congregation, having grown up here as daughter of Tom and Patti Aldea. Welcome, Aricka, and may God’s grace be with you!
