5 Things to Know This Week @ First Pres

1 A celebration of moms

In worship this Sunday, we celebrate all the moms and the women who mother us. The celebration will include the Chancel Choir singing “My Lighthouse,” along with Pastor MJ’s message, “A Tale of Two Moms,” on Sarah (Genesis 18) and Mary (Luke 1) and the difference it makes when we trust God. Children and youth will have a chance to create that last minute gift and present it during worship.

2 Welcome Caulin

We welcome Caulin Hulsey as our church’s new janitor. Caulin is well known to us as Aricka (Aldea) Hulsey’s husband and even more well known as Kaydie Grace’s dad. Caulin, Aricka and Kaydie are moving to La Junta full time in June.

3 Looking ahead

In early July, our Kathy Parker will be retiring as Church Secretary. (More info on ways we’ll be celebrating her will be coming!) The search for someone to fill this position will happen in June, so please keep this in mind if you or someone you know is looking for part-time position.

4 Did you know?

Did you know that our Otero County Foster Care Program uses our church on Monday and Tuesday nights for parent trainings? This is a great opportunity to be in prayer for some families at their most vulnerable. We thank God for this chance to serve them and share Christ with them.

5 Prayers

Please continue to keep those who are ill and hospitalized in your prayers.

Some inspiration The Rev. Laura Murray serves as Pastor for Spiritual Formation at our sister ECO church, Highland Park PC in Dallas, TX. She’s the author of Pray as You Are: Finding Your Voice in Prayer, and here on this podcast she shares some highlights: Flourish Movement Podcast
