5 Thing to Know This Week @ First Pres

1 Here comes Jesus riding on a donkey

We celebrate Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem this Palm Sunday, April 14, in worship at 10 a.m. The kids will parade, the youth will drum, and the choir will sing, before hearing Pastor MJ’s message, “A Different Drummer,” and sharing in the Lord’s Supper. Kids: Please report to the Church Library for your palms before worship. Older kids and youth will have a special role in the Palm Parade, too.

2 And here comes the donkey

After worship, head outside to a petting zoo of donkey, horse, pigs, and more. What a great reason to bring your kids, grandkids, and family friends with young children to Sunday worship.

3 Easter and Holy Week

Please see the attached schedule of Holy Week services. In the busy-ness of this time of year (and boy is it busy), add Holy Week to your calendar first. Then let the rest of your life fall around it.

4 Some ways to give

Don’t forget our canned food drive for Associated Charities. The basket is in the Church Foyer. Also, we’ll collect our “One Acre Farm” Easter Offering over the next two weeks to purchase supplies and training for farming families in Uganda.

5 A special message

We’re moving right along on the implementation of our 5 Healthy Church Prescriptions given by Paul Borden in October. We’ve hired a Children’s Evangelist, completed our Alpha in Worship program, and begun restructuring our leadership with new volunteer staff. Now we need your help. In order to create the momentum that will propel us forward, we need all hands on deck. Please make Sunday worship a priority. Fellow believers need the encouragement of community, and new believers need the wisdom and fellowship of those who are veterans of the faith. Come to church on Sundays. Greet your neighbors in the pew and get to know them. Be in prayer for each other. It’s as simple as that. We can’t do this without you. Truly.
