5 Things to Know This Week @ First Pres

1 Thank you

A heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to Keith Root’s celebration of life last Friday. From the Chancel Choir to the Bereavement Committee, to everyone who came to pray and support the Root family, we were certainly one in the Spirit that day and gave testimony to the power of community to uphold a family in their most terrible trial. Blessings to all.

2 Who is the Holy Spirit?

This week, Alpha in Worship begins the first of 3 weeks considering the role of the Holy Spirit in our faith journeys. With a celebration of the Lord’s Supper and the Chancel Choir singing, “Ancient Words.”

3 “A Night in St. Louis”

Spend a night under the Arch at our annual high school mission trip fundraiser on Sunday, March 31, at 4:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. It’s a dinner and trivia night, so you’ll want to grab a team of 4 friends, or let us find you a team with whom to compete. A free will offering will be collected.

4 You and your kids won’t want to miss it

We’ve got some neat family experiences planned for God’s House kids and families in April. We start with a Block Party on Sunday, April 7. Visit the donkeys at the petting zoo for Palm Sunday, April 14. And, finally, you won’t want to miss the Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday at 9 a.m., before Worship at 10 a.m.

5 Good Friday Food Drive

All during the season of Lent, we’ll be collecting non-perishable food items for Associated Charities. Bring your donation and place it in the shopping cart at the front of the sanctuary. We’ll transport the food on Good Friday, April 19, for dedication during our community worship service.
