Mid Week Messenger September 5
5 Things to Know This Week @ First Pres
1 Has it been a while since you’ve worshiped with us?
Summer is a busy time--we know--so welcome back. No worries, just gratitude that you’ll be back worshiping with your church family. Praise the Lord your God, they said, so they all praised the Lord, the God of their fathers. They ate and drank with great joy in the presence of the Lord that day. (1 Chronicles 29)
2 This Sunday
This Sunday, we celebrate the return of the Chancel Choir, singing “The Summons,” as we launch our new worship series, “Life on the Frontline,” discovering how God equips us for ministry right where we are: behind the wheel, behind a desk, in front of a classroom, in the kitchen, in the field. We begin with “The frontline call,” from Matthew 28.
3 God’s House for Kids
Kids (K-6th grade), join us this Sunday in God’s House, first from 9-9:30 for a quick open house preview of the classrooms, and again after the Children’s Message, as when kids will head downstairs for the first of four lessons on “Jesus, Our Very Best Friend.” Preschoolers will head to the nursery for their own lessons and fun. Parents, kids will be finishing up just a little later than worship, at about 10:40 p.m. Please meet your kids downstairs.
