Mid Week Messenger November 29
’Tis the season for lots of news & announcements:
1 God bless us, everyone!
Gather this Friday, December 1, at 7:00 p.m., for our annual Dickens Fest worship HERE at First Pres. On behalf of Associated Charities, we’ll take up a monetary collection on Friday evening, or bring your canned goods on Sunday morning and place them in the special box next to the pulpit.
2 Night of the Father’s Love
The Chancel Choir presents its Christmas cantata (that’s a concert with special readings) in worship on Sunday, December 10. Music lovers, rejoice!
3 “A Surprising Christmas Pageant”
The kids have their turn in worship on Sunday, December 17, as they present their annual re-telling of the Christmas story. A potluck brunch will follow.
4 Communion Sunday
This Sunday, December 3, join us for a service of worship with the Lord’s Supper, with the Chancel Choir singing, “Waiting,” and a special message, “Expect Joy,” from Pastor MJ on cousins Mary and Elizabeth.
5 Get rid of your kids (briefly)
Our 2nd annual Parents Night Out happens Friday, December 15, from 5-9 p.m. Free to the community, Katy Jones will lead the efforts with help from other adults and youth. What a great way to bless the community. Let us know if you can help by volunteering an hour or two, or assisting in the kitchen.
Plus a couple of hallelujahs...
Thanks to Steve Vanhook for the donation of new rose bushes, and to the very dedicated (anonymous) community volunteer who planted them this week. They’re going to look so wonderful come springtime.
Have we mentioned often enough that we filled 195 Operation Christmas Child boxes this year? Wow! Thanks to Becci, Lindsey, and Sterling for all their extra efforts of love and time.
